A complete curtain rod set consists of 1 rod, 2 or more brackets, 2 finials, and optionally rings.

Measuring it yourself

• First assess the space and situation where you want to install the curtain rod. Will it run across the entire width of the wall or only above the window frame? The setting determines what is required. Consider obstacles such as heating pipes, ceiling moldings, or other protrusions.

• Use a metal measuring tape that is long enough to measure in one go.

• Measure at least twice to avoid mistakes.

Determining the length

Measure the width of the window frame and add extra length on both sides. Measure the total desired width (window + extra centimeters on each side).

Example: if the window is 150 cm wide, add 2 × 20 cm. The total rod length will then be 190 cm.

• Windows up to 100 cm: add 10–15 cm extra rod length per side.

• Windows up to 200 cm: add 20–25 cm per side.

• Windows 300 cm or wider: add 30–35 cm per side.

Bracket distribution

Consider whether your curtains are light or heavy and how often they will be opened and closed. For heavy curtains, we recommend an additional center bracket for extra stability.

• Rod length up to 265 cm: 2 brackets

• Rod length up to 530 cm: 3 brackets

• Rod length up to 795 cm: 4 brackets

Do not forget the finial length

Ensure the total width including finials fits between walls and looks proportionate.

Measuring between two walls

If installing the rod between two walls, measure the exact inside width and subtract once from the total length:

• 28 mm rod: minus 1.5 cm

• 19 mm rod: minus 1 cm

This reduction is necessary for installation, as the exact width will not fit with brackets.

Our brackets can easily be shortened with a hacksaw to ensure a precise fit.

Rings

Our curtain rods are suitable for eyelet curtains.

For curtains with hooks, use rings to hang them smoothly and elegantly.

The most common pleat width is 10 cm. This means 1 ring per 10 cm of rod, or 10 rings per meter.
